Your images stay in your browser.

Icon Generator is local-first: the actual image work happens on your device. Our server is used only for optional account sign-in, daily quota checks, Premium licensing, support, payment events and abuse prevention.

Short version: we do not upload, inspect or store your images. The extension has no content scripts, so it does not read web pages, browsing history or page content.

What stays on your device

  • Source images: files you open, crop, resize, preview and export.
  • Generated files: PNG, ICO and ZIP output is created locally before download.
  • Generator settings: presets, custom sizes, formats and file-name patterns may be saved in browser storage.
  • Guest identifier: a random device ID may be stored locally so the free daily quota can work without an account.

Extension behavior

  • The extension opens its own generator tab instead of injecting code into other websites.
  • It does not read tab content, browsing history, passwords, clipboard data or page text.
  • It contacts our API only for sign-in, quota checks, license status, support requests and account actions.

Account and session data

If you sign in, we store the minimum needed to keep the account working:

  • Email address and active device ID.
  • Hashed session token, tier, creation time, expiry time and last-used time.
  • Device list data so you can manage active sessions.

Usage and export records

Daily limits are counted by icon file, so the API records operational metadata such as:

  • File count, export date, tier and whether the client was the extension or web app.
  • Selected sizes, formats and preset names.
  • No source image, generated image or visual content is stored in these records.

Payments and Premium

  • Polar is the payment provider for Premium purchases.
  • We store purchase email, order ID, checkout ID, license status and purchase time so Premium can activate.
  • We do not see or store card numbers.
  • Refund or revoke events can mark a license inactive so Premium access is removed correctly.

Support and email

  • Support tickets store your email, message, ticket ID and resolution status.
  • Transactional email logs may store recipient, subject, delivery status and the email body for audit and troubleshooting.
  • We send one-time codes, purchase emails and support replies. We do not run newsletters.

Security and abuse prevention

  • Standard request metadata may be logged, including IP address, coarse location, user agent and request origin.
  • Rate limits help protect OTP, support and account endpoints from abuse.
  • Disposable email/domain checks and manual blocks may be used to prevent spam and fraud.

What we do not do

  • No image uploads to our server.
  • No browsing-history collection.
  • No advertising trackers or third-party analytics trackers.
  • No sale of personal data.

Third-party services

Icon Generator relies on a small set of service providers to operate the product:

Cloudflare Hosts the website, API and database infrastructure.
Polar Handles checkout, taxes and payment processing.
Resend Delivers transactional emails such as OTP, Premium and support messages.

Your choices

  • Use Icon Generator as a guest if you only need the free daily quota.
  • Sign out anytime and remove devices from My Account or the extension.
  • Request account-data deletion from the same email address by using the contact page.
  • For Premium order or refund questions, contact support with your purchase email and order ID.
